    Newest rats sneezing.

Hello everyone, So i started to run out of my freezer supply recently and the only petstore in the area to sell feeders is not able to keep stocked and is always out for 2 week stints. So ive decided to started breeding my own. Picked up 4 females and 2 males, got them about a month ago everything is fine with them. Its the 3 new ones ive picked up, They arent wheezing as far as i can tell but they are sneeezing alot. They r on the same bedding as everyone else pine shavings, and have been since they were born at the store same brand and everything same with food wise ( i used to work there).

But they got a new breeder i orderd 3 female and a male, i got 3 rats not 4 and im positive they are all males. But they are sneezing about once every couple of mins. What can i give to them to make them healthier faster? Or jsut wait 2 weeks for them to do it naturally. I dont want them to die and a dead rat isnt going near any of my snakes or other rats.

Sometimes they do this in a new environment, sometimes its the dust or smell they are not used to . . . wait to see if it persists and THEN worry.

Since they aren't remotely what you ordered, I would just return them and not deal with the potential illness.

Oh snap, I didn't read that last part. IF they are all male, I second returning them...

Return them if they're all males. Sometimes they'll also get little sniffles from getting bounced around and the stress of shipping. But just for an FYI a sick rat will not get your snake sick. I have fed out a few rats or mice from my stock that I've needed to cull off and no issues.

Demand a swap out or return them for a refund!

To help new rats you can offer bene-bac or yogurt for pro-biotics and scrambled eggs for protein. I've heard a low dose of tetracycline in the water supply may also be beneficial. I have yet to test this theory but here are some links that may help you...
