Is it normal for my ball python to be in his hide 24/7?
I have an adult pastel that i got a little over a month and he was very active in the first two weeks or so and a day after i fed him he would just stay in his hide at night and day. I sleep pretty late and i check if my ball python is out of his hide (i have a glass door to look through). But he is never out. I checked his belly last week and it wasnt white but a bit pink. But its day 10 the belly is still pink and he hasnt shed. I havent fed him cuz i thought he was in shed but now im question myself. Humidity is 67-70% temp on warm side is 89-90 and cool side is 77-80. Is this normal for ball pythons to be in their hides all day and night and have a pink belly that long? I do have a hide on the cool side btw.

A hiding BP is a happy BP, what are you checking your temps with?

I am a worrysome person when it comes to hot side temps, might I suggest getting an IR temp gun, in addition to the accurite. If you are sure the snake is in it's shed cycle, and the temps are WNL, no worries

As long as you know what your temps are, mine is in hiding for sometimes more than a full week when he's shedding. My normal just shed last night and was finally out for the first time since what feels like 2 weeks.

That's awesome because my normal did the same thing last night. The only time I would see him is right before bed around 11:00pm he would stick his head out of his hide and that was it. It felt like it took him forever and I'm glad he finished so we can catch...
