    Cid gives free hugs.

This is my new 86g male butter ball python. I know it is not a great picture but I did not want to open the lid and disturb him. He eats wonderfully and I was wondering how long should he go between feedings? He last ate on monday, was it to soon?

I feed my guy every 6 days or so. I think usually once a week is alright if it's an adequate sized meal. I will let some pros chime in and let you know if I'm wrong haha

    Re: Cid gives free hugs.

every 5-7 days is good for a hatchling & youngster. when i got my girl she was eating every 7 days, then at about 8 months old we went to 10 days & now at a year old she's still going every 10.
    every snake is different though.
just keep in mind that it takes 2-3 days to digest a good sized meal & you cannot do any handling during those days or your snake may regurgitate & thats bad for them.

I feed all mine every 7 days. But I think that as long as you give him a bigger meal you can space it out to ten no problem.

Oh alright, I will start spacing his meals further apart then. I am really pleased with him, most of his sibling have not even eaten yet and he is on his 4th!

One appropriate sized meal every 5-7 days. 10 days is a long time for such a small snake IMO.

I agree my hatchlings are on a 5 day schedule. I would keep him on at least a 7 day schedule.
