brand new want to try my hand at breeding.

So right now I have an unsexed probably around a year old ball normal. I was thinking of sexing it and then getting the opposite sex maybe a pastel or something else kind of cheap morph. Would my babies be morphs and cool things ?

You would get Pastels and Normals from that pairing. For your first breeding, anything that comes out of the eggs is gonna be awesome...

Hopefully your normal turns out to be a female since morph females tend to command much higher prices than morph males.

As for morphs, you could get a pastel, spider, pinstripe, or any other dominant/co-dominant morph and expect to end up with 50% of the babies being that morph and 50% of the babies being normal.

I would do some research on breeding before you pick up another. There is a lot to consider when thinking about breeding, primarily hatchling care and what you will do if you don't sell/re-home any of the babies.

As sho220 said you would get pastels and normals from a pastel to normal pairing. Pastels are probably one of the cheaper morphs, but it really depends on which sex you are buying. Females generally cost more.

Would I be safe popping to check for sex on my normal? I have watched a video on youtube but still feel it may be risky.

It would be much better to have someone teach you how to prob or pop. This is not something you want to teach yourself, you may hurt your snake.
