    Good Screw Up?

I had 2 female Albinos that I wanted to breed this year. I put a Stinger Bee in with one and a Spinner in with the other. Only one of them laid this year. It happened to be the one that the Spinner had assigned to him. The female's card only shows one breeding with the Spinner.

So, fast forward 50 days. I cut the clutch, and was very disappointed to see 5 spiders and one het in the eggs. They hatched out yesterday, and I wondered why the Spiders looked so good. So, I went back to cleanning adults, and when I pulled out the Albino female that laid these eggs, it sparked something in my memory that I never marked on the Albinos' breeding cards. During the season, I had happened to have dropped the males in with the wrong females (both on the same day). I never saw a copulation with either of the males in the wrong tubs, and never marked them down.

I immediately ran to the baby room, and looked in the clutch tub one more time. Below is what I saw. (I'll jump the gun a bit). I had 3 Stinger Bee Het Albinos and 2 Spider Het Albinos. That put a smile on my face, since the Stiger Het Albinos are what I wanted more than Spinner Het Albinos.

I guess you could call that a good screw up!

That's an awesome screw up if you ask me! I sort of did the same thing this year. I had a woma x enchi/lesser clutch cooking. They all came out of the eggs a few days ago. At first I thought I hit the lesser woma combo, but after I looked more closely they resembled some preshed mojaves I had hatched last year. Then all of a sudden it hit me! It was a mojave woma not a lesser... Made sense cause the woma combo had way more pattern then it should and I just knew it right there... I went and checked the card, yup the wife put the mojave male in with the woma girl once last winter!

Don't you just love this game!

    NICE SCREW UP INDEED!

we hatched 2 spider het. albinos last year. gave one away to a friend as it was kinked (still eating, pooping, and shedding though!) and we kept one. and HOLY MAN every time i look at him i am just filled with pride that we hatched him, he is seriously GOLDEN!

your stingers will be even better!

Thanks everybody. This is a step that I thought I wouldn't get to this year (because of my screw up). I have loved the Enchi Albinos since the first time I saw a pic of one. I thougt what better way to go down that road, than to throw another gene in there.

Hopefully in a year or so , I can post a pic of the offspring of these.
