    super spider ball python?

I was looking on the internet and found a forum with a thread from UKmorphs i believe it was bred an albino spider x spider and got a very silver and reduced patter spider. Is it even possible to produce a super spider? has anyone else every try to make one? I was just curious because no one ever talks about it.

Ahhhh yes the mythical "super spider". As to this moment that I am aware of there has been no super form produced of the spider.

    Fatal combo!!!

i think nerd has a youtube video about fatal combos.. i would check that out. my understanding was that breeding spider to spider can/will result in birth defects. but i havent tried the pairing myself.

I think spider to spider is fine. I think it's woma to spider and woma to woma that results in fatal birth defects.

my understanding is a two gene homozygous spider is visually identical to a single gene spyder. One would only know by pairing with a normal. If homozygous it would result in 100% spider offspring. Because a single gene het spyder is visually identical to a 2 gene homozygous spider not many are produced...most are single gene het spiders. I have not proven this out but this is my understanding. Open to corrections if there are any...

Supposedly the super spider looks no different from a regular spider but will never produce normals no matter how many different females it's put to. Just like a super pastel. Of course, there are people out there who have spiders who have not produced normals but it takes multiple breedings to prove this and even then, you still can't prove if it's because it is a super spider.

The commonly held belief is that the fabled "super spider" is doomed to die in the egg, because it is widely held that it is a lethal gene combination.

While many people cross spider to spider, or have in the past, and many more cross multi gene animals that contain spider, it seems odd that no one can say with 100% certainty if the super spider does or does not exist. At least not to my knowledge.

I believe I remember reading about someone who believed they had hatched and raised to breeding size a super spider male, and were I believe two seasons in to trying to prove beyond doubt that is was indeed a super, I have not heard conclusively if it was proven or not. It would take several seasons, at least 4 or 5, with this male being bred to as many non-spider carrying females as possible and each and every one producing nothing but spider and spider cross offspring to say without doubt it was a super. Perhaps it is simply no one wants to make that big an effort ?
