Random soaking

So today i found my BP soaking in her water dish. in the 3 years ive had her ive never seen her in her water dish at all. the temps are perfect, the humidity is ideal, and she most def does not have mites or other parasites, she is also pooping regularly so i knw its not constipation, and it doesnt look like she is about to shed. could it b she just fealt like goin for a swim?

yeah.
I always react that way when my very idiosyncratic animals do something out of the ordinary. But reptiles aren't clocks. They have random desires as well. As long as one behavior doesn't prevent other normal and necessary behaviors, then you shouldn't worry.

It could be that she just wanted to soak, but if everything else is ideal, then I'd put a guess on mites. Mite eggs are laid underneath the snake's scales and can take up to a month to hatch, so it's quite possible that she got mites from a bedding or wherever you got her from and such and you haven't seen them because they haven't hatched. She's soaking because I'd imagine having eggs shoved under your scales is not very pleasant.

When my boa had mites (she got them from the store that had her before) I hadn't seen any actual mites for a good month and a half, but she had been soaking. All of a sudden they hatched and that's when I saw them.

I'm not saying that she definitely has them, but I'm saying that it's worth being cautious about.
