    Thinking about Leopard Geckos!

Hey all ... I'm thinking about getting 3-4 leopard geckos (a male and some females). I want to get them small and grow them up.

When babies, can they be housed together in a shallow 15 qt tub or should I provide one tub for the females and one for the male? And then separate them when they get bigger (at what size though?).

Anyway, I was curious about all the need to knows ...

I know they need a humid hide for shedding and a shallow dish for water.

And a warm side of around 90.

    Am I missing anything?

    Any advice or comments welcome!!!

Hey Jess. This is how I run my setup and the musts for geckos.

I keep mine in 15 quart tubs. My two females are in together and my male is seperate that is till I feel Like getting for eggs which wont be till next season when I can get a good tang girly (tangerine) for him. The tun consist of papertowel substrate, a humid hide (I use the plastic baby wipes containers And cut a hole in one side of them for entrance) That I line with moist ecoearth. This is placed on the hot side Which should always be kept at 95°....the cold side doesn't really matter as long as its in the 80s somewheres in the lower usually. Don't keep males with females because as any animal They mature faster and will harass and sometimes kill the females. Only introduce them when you want babies. I keep a little lid of calcium in with them at all times and make sure its full daily. People debate on the use of calcium with or without d3. I use d3 and haven't had any negative affects. For a water dish make sure its clear so They can see its water and Not a random object. I use cleaned out laundry detergent lids. The kind that come off the ones That you stand inverted and hold the button to dispense the detergent....if you know what I mean. I also include a cold side hide Which they rarely use but its their if they do. Papertowel rolls are the staple on that. I feed 4 superworms every other day and add a pinky every couple of weeks. All are dusted in a calcium/multivitamin mixture. I clean daily but that's me I'm rather anal when it comes to clean Leo tubs. I'm trying to think What else I can add.....hmmmm........ there isn't a need to check humidity with them as long as They Have a humid hide they're good.

    Basically these are the majors

Hot side 95° at all times
    Humid hide
    Cold hide
    Water dish
    Calcium dish
    Dust all food
15qt for most unless you get giants than you'll need bigger

Juvies can be quite flighty so be careful as they can drop their tails. If there is anything else you need help with you know how to reach me.

Thanks ... so here is a mix I am thinking about getting..

    Unsexed 1 x SHTCB 3
    Female 1 x Mack Snow
Unsexed 1 x Bold Poss Super
    Unsexed 1 x Tangerine
    Female 1 x Blizzard

Are these okay or will the genetics clash?

And what is super? And what does SHTCB stand for? something tangerine something baldy?

Your missing a T is the first. It should be SHTCTB or.....super hypo tangerine carrot tail baldy. Baldys Have no patterns on their heads. As for the super it would be a poss super stripe.

Oh wait you said bold as in bold stripe? If so then yes super stripe is correct. I would go tang to shtctb, and bold to blizzard. I don't know where I Would incorperate the Mack. I'm not 100% on what's a dom and codom. So you may end up with hets at first.
