    Social or antisocial?

Do savannah monitors enjoy the company of their own kind?
Do they do better in pairs and if so, will they fight when they reach sexual maturity if they turn out to both be males?

    Re: Social or antisocial?

No they are not social animals(no mater what that guy in Az says)But if where to put them together they wont kill each other. Many people myself included keep them in pairs or groups with no problems, but I can tell you that they don't seek out each other. In most cases they can be kept together with little to no problems. The Indcus complex is a different story. As keeping them together has been problematic,Croc monitors as well, and there have been some problems with adult Salavators.

I can say that with my captives the only time they seem to choose to be around each other is when the female is starting a reproductive cycle. Other then that they seem to want nothing to do with the other.

Thanks guys! I was just wondering =) instead of putting money toward that and an even bigger enclosure I'm going to put it toward starting a dubia colony haha
