It's how many of which sex they own.
    1.0 is one male
    0.1 is one female
    0.0.1 is one unknown.

    Male.Female.Unknown

So if I had 3 males, 5 females, and 12 unknown/unsexed... it would be
    3.5.12

So you will often see people selling snakes like "2. pied ball pythons" or ".3 brazilian rainbow boas" or they will sometimes include the 0--"0.1 albino hognose" etc..

Some people only show the first two because all their animals are sexed!

I like to remember it with "females are always right" (of the decimal).

I had the same question a couple months ago. It was driving me crazy seeing those numbers and not knowing what they meant. Luckily, the kind people people on here answered it for me quickly. I've done the same thing as you though...I'd see some for sales with the numbers and then email to ask what sex they were lol! Oh well, at least we know now!
