    Difference Beetween Rat & corn

Sorry to ask... But what is the difference? On craigslist somebody was selling a rat snake and a corn. Does that mean the can live together? (Even though I've heard never to put two species together?)

No no no, the cannot live together!!!! There are many different species of rat snake, I believe that it is a genus which includes corn snakes, but I could be wrong. They should not live together though, even if they have the same husbandry requirements.
I love what I love. Forever. Don't expect that to change.

You don't want to keep them in the same tank, that's for sure. I haven't done any real research on it but if I remember correctly Corns are closely related to Rat Snakes. In fact I think the other name for Corns is "Red Rat Snake", but they are not the same species. And I am fairly certain they can interbreed since a Creamsicle Corn is the result of an Emory Rat and a Corn.

But like I said, I didn't do much research on it.

Rats and Corns ARE the same thing. For some reason, the powers that be made Corns their own genus a few years ago. Rats are Elaphe, Corns are now Pantherophis. I guess it probably has something to do with how Corns stand out on their own so much. Whatever, they're essentially all the same type of snake. However, for best husbandry practices, they shouldn't be housed together except for breeding purposes. But otherwise, all husbandry practices are the same for both genuses (caging, heating, feeding, etc).

All cornsnakes are rat snakes, but not all rat snakes are corn snakes. Corn snakes are a specific species of rat snake.

And do not keep them together. They are solitary animals.
