Thats an awesome Retic. I am glad to see all your posts where you have her out and handling her. Seems like she is super tame as a result. Very cool stuff!

Yea shes a really calm snake. Especially for being a retic she acts more like a burmese python so its alot easier to move her around our purple tiger would never let us have her out like this lol she would be all over the place. Having these girls out for 10 minutes feels like being in a gym for 2 hours lol

I can imagine the amount of effort that goes into having a snake like that. I have seen/heard retics can be a little more nippy than a burm but it still seems to just come down to the individual snake itself. Again kudos for the dedication and great looking snake!

This reminds me of a story I heard after telling a co-worker I had snakes... A woman slept with her snake every night. The snake was young but still growing. One night she noticed the snake stretching out to its full length next to her, apparently this snake was a larger species. This continued for a few weeks and the woman paid no attention. One day, while visiting her local vet, she happened to ask about the strange behavior. The doctor informed her that the snake was simply sizing itself up to determine whether or not she was too large to eat!

I gotta admit, I don't believe this story for a second, and I'm probably not the only one who's heard this before. The topic just reminded me and I thought you guys would enjoy this. More importantly, what an awesome animal you have there! As always, I'm truly jealous!

Yeah, sounds very fishy. I've seen too many pics of snakes who tried to eat prey that was way bigger than they could get down. I've never seen one of mine try to measure their rats and calculate if they would fit in their gut.

LOL...I don't think that was ever meant to be taken as a true story. I think it was supposed to be a joke.

Awesome pictures! She looks like a lot of fun to hang out with!
