    Size heat pad?

What size heat pad would be best for a 15q tub? A 6X8 or 4X5? The type of heat pad I'm looking at is a Zoo-Med Repti Therm. I was thinking the 6X8 since the 4X5 seems pretty small.
This should be the dimensions of the tub: 16.7"L x 13.3"W x 5.3"H
    Thanks!

    6x8 or 8x8 works I think that's what I had at first.

^^ I agree, and this way it will be big enough when you move up to a 28qt

Or you could order flexwatt from reptilebasics pre-wired and also order the size larger for your next tub and get them both delivered for cheaper than one zoo-med heat pad.

A one ft. piece of 4 inch flexwatt and an 11 x 12 inch piece of flexwatt = $5.80 + shipping.
Heck you could even order a couple spares and still save money

Thanks! I think I'll just use the heatpad. :3 So a 6x8 will work even when I have a 28q?!(Bonus!) what size will I need for a 32q? Next biggest I'm guessing?

    Re: Size heat pad?

I usethe 1-5 gallon UTH by Zoo-Med for all my tubs up from a 6qt to a 28qt. Then once my snakes get into the 32-34qt to the 41qt, I upgrade the UTH to the 10-20 gallon size.

Man a rack would be helpful by now...

It's ver very likely that I will be allowed to get it. I won't get it until Jan 21st when the Reptile Expo is, but after reading the letter, Dad didn't say no. :3 He asked questions about the snake, mainly how big it gets and noted how it did seem like it would be less work than my other pets(I have bearded dragons, a rat, and a gecko and am breeding superworms)
IDK if the parents like how BIG the bps get, but I'm sure they'd come around to him as he grew. :3

Well, there actually is a reptile expo in August, but I'm saving all my money until September. Afte september I can save for the snake and will buy what I need in pieces. I'll just have to confirm that I can get it before I start buying everything XD I want to be prepared though and know everything about the BPs that I can before I get one so I'll be prepared for anything it throws at me.

    Re: Size heat pad?

Yup. :3 Once I'm 100% sure, I'm sure you'll see the board. XD And I'll be making sure I have everything down that I need for the BP.(which at the moment I Want to name Matsuda, though that could change by the time of the expo)
Dad asked if I was going to the reptile expo in august, but I wasn't sure if I was or not, to avoid the temptation. XD
