Female laying egg/egg's right now!! Question?

how do you know if a female ball python is egg bound? my female is laying or trying to lay as im typing this. and its my first clutch.i saved her from a pet shop because they were going to freez her because she wouldnt eat and was limp and week. so i bought her for $40 and started the process of bringing her back.started a series of baytro shots 3 to be exact.and tube feeding her with baby food mixed with calcium, and pedialite.then i tried to feed her mice, asf, rats and she would only show intrest in mice but was to weak to eat the adults so gave her hoppers and she started to eat.now shes laying eggs.idk what, how she even mated with.plz help...

    Hi,

How many has she laid so far and what makes you think she could be eggbound?

    Hi,

It can take a little while to get started but how long has she been at it?

And pics might indeed be a good idea.

Honestly, it sounds like you havent had her for a while, and it sounds like she was in terrible shape. As soon as she ovulated and had become gravid I would have taken her to the vet and had them aspirate the eggs. That is a massive amount of stress for a female that isnt up to par. Her health is 100% number 1. The condition she was/is still in puts her at even bigger risk.

Its important she has good humidity, and privacy. If she is laying them right now she may be ok. But she should lay them relativly in a short span of time. She shouldnt lay one or two and then not lay any more. She should lay them all in one session. She should be coiled up on the hotspot with her tail in the middle of her coil. I would worry if she lays one or a couple and then no more and you can see she still has more to lay. Or if she is visibly straining, or writhing.

From the sounds of the condition she was in I wouldnt have let her get this far. If she hasnt laid soon I would call the vet and get her in immediatly.

Edit- saw the pic.... do you know for sure she is gravid? I had a female rescue that had a massive urate stuck like that. She was extreamly dehydrated and was immesly constipated. An egg should come out easily....but that doesnt mean for her it will.
