    Alien bug!!! lol

    Seriously I caught this bug in central Illinois Ive never seen this bug anywhere not even when researching all the bugs in my state if you know what it is please tell me. Also it stunk worse than a skunk it made everyones eyes water we even through out the bug container because the smell wouldnt go away.

    You know.., I know my sister B knows exactly what that creepy thing is because she was talking about it just a few weeks ago and was fascinated by it. I can't get ahold of her right now to ask her what it's called either. I sent her the picture but I'm positive that's what she was telling me about and it has a name just as weird as it is. She lives not far from Kankakee on the river and gets a lot of weird and huge bugs but I would never forget the description of that.

    AhHA!! She finally got back to me! It's a Dobson fly! Ok so I thought it had a weird name. I knew she knew what it was!

    She said that one is a male. They have big horns and females are smaller and have smaller pincers.

    And this is a Helgramite.. The Dobson fly larva which lives in the water and makes great fishing bait according to my sister.. Eeeeeeeek!!!

    eww! that looks even scarier! lol thank you im so glad you could tell me the name of it the thing is lol its deffinately not the size of a fly its was 3 inches long

    Oh I know. Google Dobson fly under images. They get even bigger than that that one!
