    Uth

So from what I've read from all of you is that I should be worried about my UTH being too hot and I should have it on a dimmer. Well I think mine is broken cause without the heat light the tank gets way to cold. The warm area isn't even warm to the touch when I reach in and feel it. Ao lost likely I have a faulty UTH right? I mean it should keep the tank warm if it's covered right? Sorry if this is a stupid question I just don't wanna stress out my snake.

Do you have a digital thermometer? What does it read on the side over the uth? Technically the warm side shouldn't feel warm to you. 92.f is below our body temp at 98.f. So you may not have a faulty uth. But also you may if it's not heating at all. Have you tried taking it off the dimmer without the snake in the cage and seeing how warm it gets full blast? If you can feel it heat up then it's most likely fine. Put it back on the dimmer and watch the digital thermometer. If you don't have one you absolutely need one.

I do have a digital therm. And its placed on the bottom of the tank on the hot side. It drops low like 76 some times. So I throw the light on to get the heat back up. But the snake is going back and forth between sides so maybe I'm just being paranoid. Or a have a crappy thermometer. Right now the snake is sleeping in the cold side hide last night he was in the warm side hide.
