HELP!!! anyone who knows ball pythons health issues?

i have a ball python that had mites i fought them for a week long now he is back in good health. he was in my forty the hospital tank, now he is in my new 75 gallon tank i just bought. yesterday when i put him i seen blood on the newspaper ground floor i put down. i looked alll over couldnt find anything, i finally seen it, he was bleeding out of anus. it was a liitle amount enough to make a couple small 3 inches smears on the paper. i blew all my money on the tank. so i cant afford a vet bill what is going on with my snake.

Did he just shed as well? It's very common for them to bleed a little from the vent during or immediately after a shed. The tissue there is very tender and can sometimes tear a little bit when the old skin sloughs off. It's harmless.

Ball pythons don't usually do well in such large enclosures. Hopefully yours is an exception.

Most likely it was from a shed or difficult to pass waste.

But 75 gallon ? That thing is big enough to divide up for 4 or 5 ball pythons, and much too large for just one. I've been down that road, never again!

75 gallons is pretty big. I would especially for minimum of 2 months keep him in a smaller tank. Eggs can hatch and start another infestation. So I would Keep watch for longer than a week. Smaller tank equals less space for mites/ eggs to hide. Easier to treat. As for the blood it's very normal to have a bit of blood after a shed or defecation.
