    Questions about rack systems

I'm saving up to build my own rack system and had a few questions....

What size tubs for baby, juvies, and adult ball pythons, and what size heat tape to go along with the tub size? And also, where to you put the probe on the termostat. Inside a tub, or on the middle shelf on the heat tape? Thanks

IM also in the process of building one.for babbies i use 6qt and for big breeder size adults i use 41qt for 500 gram to maybe a 1000gram 28qt should be fine.as for heat tape i use 4 inch for 6qts and 11 inch for the 41qt's.but everyone has there own sizes they like to use.the probe is placed in the middle on the heat tape.

I think the standard for tub sizes is:
    Hatchlings: 6qt
    Juvies: 15qt
    Adult Males: 28-32qt
    Adult Females: 32-41qt

Heat tape varies depending on your design and the probe should go on the heat tape. Mine is on the middle shelf.

I posted a set of build instructions for a 12 tub, 41 or 28 quart rack (it is meant for the 41 quart tubs, but you can put the 28 quart tubs in also, they just wont reach the front of the rack). You'll find a list of materials with prices and where I bought them. There are lots of pictures to help too.

    I go from 6 quarts to 32 quarts and/or 41 quarts (females)

Depends on the animals and how they do.

A few exceptions are placed in 15 quarts if they do not do well in 32 quarts.

After watching one of Justin Kobylka's Pro Tips on feeding Ball Pythons, I sent him an email asking him to help me make a summary chart of what prey item and what size container to use for a Ball Python (based on the weight of the Ball Python). Here is the chart he helped me to create:
