    Sigh...

So, Axel escaped almost 2 weeks ago. It was my fault. I was an idiot and underestimated his strength. (I had nothing weighing down the top of his tank.) I'm absolutely beside myself. I even bought a live rat to live in my room, hopefully to attract him. Now I have an empty tank, a broken heart, and a pet rat.

My house isn't AC'd, and it's in the 90's, so a heating pad to attract him won't work. The worst part? My house is full of holes and open vents. He's probably living it up outside somewhere, and then will die a horrible cold death come winter...

THIS is why I should have waited till we were in the new house to buy my first bp...Let me tell you, though, this will NEVER happen again. Marcelene is in a latched cage, and that's the only thing I'll keep anyone in until I can build a rack.

Anyway...don't be stupid like me and have your tank unsecured. Learn from my stupid mistake.

Thanks, you guys. Grr. Just wish I hadn't been such a flippin' idiot.

I also wish I hadn't been so stupidly attached to him...

I'm so sorry, unfortunately most of us find things out the hard way, and this case isn't any different Just do what you can to find him, even try the heating pad with the hide, flour on the floor, anything people have tried in the past. Tear apart them room his tank is in because they really don't travel that far. I wish you the best with finding him, don't give up yet.

    Re: Sigh...

Hope he comes back for you! If it makes you feel better, I had an adult female corn wandering the house for over 4 months before I found her. Besides being a little thin and in the middle of a bad shed, she was perfectly fine.

Don't give up, look everywhere and then look everywhere again. Like LGray23 said, look close by because they usually don't travel that far away.
