Anyone using the Vivarium Electronics thermostat?

Just wondering if anyone here is using any of the Vivarium Electronics thermostats? If so, what model and how's it working out for you? And what do you like and dislike about it?

    Thanks,

    Dave

Re: Anyone using the Vivarium Electronics thermostat?

Yes, I have the VE- 200 model, and love it. Granted it is my first thermostat, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it is very easy to use and to adjust when needed. I have had it for months and have had no issues with it; I would recommend it.

Re: Anyone using the Vivarium Electronics thermostat?

(disclaimer- we use AND sell the VE thermos)

Over 20 years we have gone through a progression of thermos, from Helix to Rancos to Johnson Controls to the Vivarium Electronics thermos. We have seen improvement at each step.

In time we will replace the JC units in our facility with the VE units (we have already started that process, but it is dozens and dozens of units). From the simplest standpoint, they are engineered better and can sit flat, yet upright, with cords coming out the back, not the bottom. Every JC and Ranco unit in use sits on its side, with big thick cords coming out the bottom. The VE units were specifically designed to address this physical flaw.

From a functionality standpoint, they are also fantastic. The 200 and 300 models allow you to CHOOSE either an on/off mode or proportional mode, as that is the number one concern of most users.

Excellent product, made by a reptile company, can't beat that!

Is it true that these thermostats can only be manipulated by full degrees?

Yes, at least with the 200 model.
