If she lays while I'm gone...
I only have one clutch coming this year, and it's due literally any day. Nerissa ovulated on May 25th, and shed about 2 weeks later - I stupidly forgot to record the date of her shed, but it was right on time if I remember correctly. So according to my calculations, she was technically due to lay this previous Friday. For the last few days, she's been alternating between weird positions/contortions & perfect coils, so I imagine it will happen any day now.
I'm getting a bit nervous, though, since I'm supposed to go on a trip this weekend... and what if she lays while I'm on vacation? Can she incubate them herself until I return? The temps should be fine, but I imagine the humidity is way too low - so should I add some moss before I go, or perhaps a laybox? Hopefully she'll pop them out before Friday, but if not I'd like to know how to leave things. TIA!
Here's a picture of her from tonight... whaddya think, is she close to laying?

She'll be find if she lays while you're gone, but make sure your hot spot is not too hot. The eggs can cook if they sit on heat tape too long.

Yes, I had a girl lay last season while I was out of town, I didn't even know she was gravid .

make her entire tub into a lay box. just fill the whole tub with moist moss. make sure its not "wet" though. and then go back to normal when you return.

Every year since I've been breeding bps, my vacations in the summer have always lined up when someone was due to lay (and every year I've come home to eggs!). Though this year I took my vacation early, so will be here for all of the egg laying.
If you're only gone for a week or less, its not a big deal. The eggs will be just fine, don't sweat it at all.

Thanks all - definitely put my mind at ease! And yes, it does seem like our vacations often coincide with laying time... guess everything fun happens in the summer, LOL.
I'll put some moss in there, since it tends to be pretty dry in my tubs (there's like no humidity in this climate), and I'll make sure the hot-spot isn't too high. She hasn't laid anything yet, but still looks ready to go at any moment!

make sure none of your hotspots are over 91-92. I believe I just lost a clutch or most of a clutch(my very first ever) while I was away on vacation. I'd hate to see you coming home to bad eggs. Best of luck mate!

Re: If she lays while I'm gone...
I maternally incubate all of my ball clutches. If you're only going to be gone for the weekend, I wouldn't worry and unless you intend to allow her to brood the clutch, I wouldn't bother with lining the tub with moss or another humidity-friendly substrate or medium unless you prefer the look. However, if there is room for a humid hide/nest box big enough for her to coil comfortably in, it might provide a more comfortable lay site for your female since you say the humidity in her tub is very low.

Thanks again for the replies! I left yesterday on my vacation, and as suggested I lowered the heat a few degrees... she shares a rack/heat with 3 other snakes, but I figure they won't notice a slight change (especially since the weather's quite warm now).
I was going to add a bit of moss, but she seemed to be raising the humidity herself! Twice in about a 24-hour period, I cleaned her tub because she spilled the water everywhere... at first I thought it was just an accident, and then she did it again & again. So obviously she was trying to get it moist in there, which leads me to believe I'll come home to eggies. Amazing how their instinct works, and how they do have some problem-solving abilities - guess they're not THAT dumb, after all.

P.S. The same day as her water-spilling (Thurs/Fri), she also hissed at me for the first time EVER... my girl Mona did that last year right before laying, so again a good sign that eggs are imminent.
