    Just had to post this.

hey i don't know if u have seen this or not but there's a show on animal planet where they go around catching wild Burmese pythons an other snakes. so on this show there was a guy who claims that he caught a small baby python an wanted to keep it but the woman of the house said no way. so the guys neighbor said his son has always wanted a snake so they gave it to him. no cage, no info, no care, no nothing so this guy an his 15 year old son took the snake in hand an starts to drive to the pet store to buy a cage for the snake. well on the way to the pet store while the son was holding the snake. IT BIT HIM they were soon to find out that there baby python was a BABY WATER MOCCASIN i mean how stupid can these people be. i mean first off if u confuse a moccasin for a python u shouldn't own a snake. second who just goes an picks up a random snake. i mean seriously this snake was in there hands the whole time not only did he risk his own family. but also his neighbors family lucky after being in the hospital for a week the kid pulled though. but i think its just crazy u catch an animal bare handed an with no info on it u give it to your neighbor an his 15 year old kid. how horrible he most feel.

I didn't see this, but then I've pretty much stopped watching Animal Planet - too annoying!

I'm glad someone else saw that I just watched it tonight and was dumbfounded.

    1. How do you catch and give away a snake you have no idea what it is.

    2. How do you let your son have a snake you have no idea what it is.

If Animal Planet didn't skew it to look worse... I didn't see the program so I don't know what they showed or what was "dramatization". I do know they've basically completely lied before about what happened in various scenarios, just to make some "good tv" programs that people can gasp and point at. It could be a completely made up load of bullpuckey like several of their other "true programs".

That said, anyone who picks up a snake without knowing EXACTLY what it is, is a fool. Any adults involved in that whole scenario(if it's a true one and not made up by AP again) are all at fault for handling a wild snake and allowing a minor to handle the wild snake. Charges of child endangerment come to mind, for one.

I completely doubt this story first of all the two look nothing alike. Second having lived in the South my whole life venomous snakes are a way of life as such there is no way in HELL you just reach down and pick up a baby Cotton Mouth you'd be bit before you get the thing in a bag or box or anything. It sounds like one of those stories people tell to make things sound way worse.
