    Question

How much of the top of your screen is covered to keep humidity and heat? And how much should you leave open?

i cover about half of the screen when im putting direct humidity in but i don't put and cover on if i am spraying my bedding every week. if you spray there bedding the humidity will stay pretty high for a few days. If you have a reptifogger. cover half and put a 75 watt night bulb in and it will stay a good temp and humidity hope that helped

    Re: Question

    Hi,

I would try covering all of it except for the opening for the lamp and a small square on the opposite end from the lamp..

That should be a large enough area that you get a decent enough air exchange when you take convection into consideration.

Basically you cover as much as you need to apart from the areas where it would cause problems like the heat source.

If you can switch to a under tank heater(UTH) instead of a lamp(use a thermostat to control the temp), you'd be able to cover most of the screen and keep in humidity. Lamps suck the moisture right out.

Each house would have a different ambient humidity and temp, so you'd have to experiment to see what works for your particulars. Just make certain you don't have anything in contact with your heat lamp to prevent the hazard of fire. If you have pets, make sure a cat or dog can't jump up and bump anything onto the heat lamp also.

So I covered the whole top. Of course left a heat lamp hole and made a square on the opposite side for air circulation. I covered the top with background drop I had left from covering the 3 sides of the thank. Now is this gonna work or I wasted my time
