I was talking to my friend about this the other day and he said they are easy to spot if you have them next to their siblings. If you are just randomly looking for one it can be hard. Sorry I can't help more than that

The head will be lighter than that of a normal Leucistic, depending on the combination. Also, there will be an overall light yellow wash over the animal, again, depending on the combination.

It's one of those things you have to let the critter shed and grow a bit if you are not sure.

Pastel super fire I saw had a glowing white spot on its head that didn't show up well in the picture, but never seen it on any other super fires.

Superfires can have a certain degree of yellow pattern on them, so it could be a little bit easier...I will keep an eye on this when I hatch my lucies...time will tell.

Re: How to recognize a Pastel leucistic?

Hi, we produced a purple passion and a pastel purple passion this year from pastave to phantom 44. You can see the pastel influence on the pastel purple passion on the nose as it is white and the head is lighter. Body allover is lighter and more pearlscent looking, I call it deep purple passion, just for fun
I cant put up pictures so heres a link to my site with pictures of both morphs.
