    Re: ball python cages

a 20 gallon long tank or terrarium (30") would be good for a juvenile bp up to maybe subadult, then upgrade to a 36" when its an adult, i guess. that's my plan.
theres really a wide variety of set ups some aquarium style, some glass terrariums with sliding doors like this one i have...

this is a visionarium from creativepet.com

    this is my set up...

and then there's plastic tubs of various sizes...

the thing is...too big of a cage will stress out a bp, especially a young one.

    my current collection
    1.2 kiddos
    1.0 better half
    0.1 mojave ball python (Nyx)
    0.1 Dumerils Boa (Hemera)
    1.0 Eastern Box turtle
3.4.? rats (? = litter coming any day now)
    0.1 dutch rabbit (Lucy)

    my "future hopefuls"
0.0.1 pied cockatiel 0.0.1 white bellied caique 0.0.2 guinea pigs

with glass ones though, the sides and back need to be covered to help the snake feel more secure & not so exposed. they're not good as "display" animals.

You might consider a tub for your snakes benefit in both heating, humidity, and security. Tubs make things pretty simple for taking care of your snake properly. No one enclosure size is perfect for a snake its whole life in my opinion and you might need atleast three from hatchling to adult.
