For racks, do you need heat tape in each row?
As the topic says. do you need heat tape set up in every single row of a snake rack? Or is every other row fine?

Some people do back heat instead of belly heat. I don't think you should do every other row if you are going with belly heat. You are going to have a huge variation in temps between the rows. My rack is made of melamine and there is no way it would ever transfer enough heat down to provide a correct hot spot.

If you are doing belly heat it needs to be every row, you can do it as one piece that runs from top to bottom or wire them individually.

Every other shelf means only every other snake will have a hot spot, therefore you need to have heat tape on every shelf.
Back heat is an option however there is more of a heat loss and I would only recommend it in a stable heated herp room.
