    Crusty the Crestie!

This is my "new" crested gecko. He's about 2.5 years old and his name is Crusty, but I will be changing it soon. I'd been wanting a crestie for a while, so I was searching on Craigslist, saw him, and couldn't turn him down. He's really laid back (even though he loves to jump), he likes being held and he's a great and fun addition to our household.

He was being fed a diet of baby food and crickets by his previous owner and I've read that baby food isn't good for them, so I've been feeding him strawberry CGD and he LOVES it. He tears that stuff up! I can tell by the amount of poop I find in his cage on my weekly cleanings.

As you can see in the pictures I'm going to include, he's not really "fancy" like some of the geckos I see on here. He's a drab olive green color and his back fires up to a light chocolate brown color. He's got a little white fringing and some black and red spots, but that's about it. I don't really mind that he's kind of boring looking because he has the cutest little face and he's always smiling.

Anyway, here's my smiling little buddy, Crusty.

Here you can see a few of his spots, fringing, and the missing tip of his tail.

My favorite picture of him. Look at that cute little face!

If you're having a bad day, just look at Crusty's smiling face and it will cheer you right up! Thanks for looking!

Nice crestie! I love the name. That last picture reminds me of a pic I took of one of my cresties. Congrats on the new addition!

You dont see a whole lot of solid olive green cresties like that, so dont knock his colors! He looks great!

Are u sure he lost the tip of his tail? They usually drop their whole tail if something happens, the tip of the tail flattens out and has the adhesive pads like their toes do. Got any pics of his tail? I could tell you for sure...

Thanks! I'm not knocking his colors, I quite like them, actually. I wanted an olive green Crestie, so I was happy when I found out what color he was. I guess I just meant to say that is a "boring" color by most people's standards, but I think he's just fine.

I did a lot of research before I got a Crestie and the tip of his tail is definitely missing. I am actually the third owner of this poor little guy. His tail is just a rounded end. No paddle shape, no adhesive pads like his toes have. Just basically a little perfectly rounded stub, like the tip of it got caught in a door or something.
