Pretty Normal BP?
Theres an ad on my local online classifieds for normal ball python juveys for $30.
Figured if its a female I might get it.
This guy seems like a flipper, he has multiple ads for animals including beardies, anoles, tropical girdled lizards, columbian red tail boas, several dart frogs etc.
So I highly doubt he knows how to sex a BP, and I would want to know what company he is buying from, if he will tell me that.
Anyways would you guys think this is a smart buy for future breeding or not so much? I will have to confirm the sex, I would only want it if female.
Thanks for any opinions!

Re: Pretty Normal BP?
Honestly, it looks like a 100% normal ball python for me. If you want to breed for limited alien heads she (if its a she) would be a good choice.

I didnt think it was anything but a 100% normal. Just looking at its pattern it seems kind of cool for a normal.
Is the alien head thing genetic? Like is that a proven thing to produce less alien heads with a snake like the one pictured?

Re: Pretty Normal BP?
No, its not a genetic trait like a spider but you are more likely to get a snake with less alien heads if the parents have less alien heads.

ok, well i know it wouldnt be like a morph or anything, that wasnt what I was saying.
But ok there a chance of the parents passing on the reduced alien head pattern. Thats all I was wondering, thanks

You can avoid the heart dropping feeling of raising a snake for 2 years just to find out you've raised a male, by going to a trusted breeder.
Knowing your intentions might be to breed her eventually IMO It's not a smart buy if he can't pop it and show you the sex of the snake.

I know how to pop and sex the snake myself, im betting he wouldnt know how.
If he lets me sex it and its female then I may buy it. But no I wouldnt buy it unless sexed female.
