    should i feed more frequently?

Hello my name is Josh and i am a new bp owner and new to the forum. I bought my male pinstripe (Calvin) a month ago and he has been eating VERY well (every thursday). I have not weighed him yet but he is 18" long and for the time being is eating live mice that are just slightly bigger than he is at his widest. Calvin takes them within 20 seconds of dropping them in the cage.

I've read post after post after post that say feed them once a week but i'm wondering if I should start offering food every 5 days instead of 7. I ask because Calvin ate on schedule this past thursday... Last night/this morning at 2am he ate again. Thats less than 36 hours. my brother was trying to feed his orange ghost (Hobbes) and it would not eat. While Hobbes showed no interest, Calvin, who's cage is next to the other, was very interested so my brother dropped the mouse in his cage and he took it immediately. I was not home and just found this out. I would have never offered food again so soon but its done and Calvin is just fine. Given that he seems to be very eager to eat, should i try offering food every 5 days?

Assuming he is still very young (since he's only 18 inches long), a five day feeding schedule would be fine for the first year or so as long as you aren't feeding too big of prey. If I remember correctly, younger snakes have faster metabolisms than older snakes.

I feed adults once per week (except for females leading upto breeding season, at times I will offer them 2 sm rats). Hatchlings and juvies I offer every 4-5 days

There's really no reason you can't. I generally feed my young BPs every 5-7 days, and if they are thin every 3 days.
