Rat shipment coming on a hot day

So about how long will the dry ice keep rats frozen on a hot day(high of 97)? Of course I finally decide to place an order and the delivery day turns out to be the hottest day so far this year.

Are you planning on leaving it outside for a long period of time? I just got a shipment of rats in yesterday and it took 2 days for them to arrive and they were still very much frozen. I probably wouldn't leave the box outside in the sun for long though.

Well there's a good chance it will arrive while I'm at work. So if the UPS guy leaves in on my stairs, I can't really do too much about it.

You might be okay. I'm not sure where you got them from, but the box I got from RodentPro was well insulated and probably could have sat around for a while. I think worst case scenario your going to see them starting to thaw.

Most companies ship ground due to being allowed to use a lot more dry ice compared to FAA overnight 5lbs limit.

Thus making most companies use 10-15lbs of dry ice per shipment allowing fo a 2-4 day frozen time when shpped.
