I like some rex coats but like most of my pet customers I tend to prefer the shiny standard coats over the rex's.
Like snakes there is a lot to like and not everyone likes the same traits

Thanks!
Tan rats(beige) are a result of a black rat and the red eye gene coming together to dilute the coat color to a beige color.
Red eyes change the coat color and there is 3 different red eye dilutes.
There is Pink eyed, Red eyed and Ruby Eyed and they all change the coat color in different ways.
Ruby and Agouti makes Fawn which is an orange ratty, pink eye and blue makes a silver which is a white rat with a blue hue to it, etc.
I play with red eye dilutes quite a bit as it's how you get more colors into your group.

Re: How to make cute baby ratty's
So is red eyes recessive like albino's i assume because these are the only ones i have and they haven't breed yet still to young. I have stayed away from white rats because the first 2 i had (petstore) rats died after child birth and the other before so i have avoided them like the plague.

Yes all of the red eye traits are recessive which is what albino(PEW or Pink eyed White) is.
Nothing wrong with breeding them but like any other rat, genetics plays a huge roll in how well they breed and how long they live.
Pet store rats are a hit and miss as to whether your getting a rat that is genetically sound.
I don't breed albinos because I like to breed colors and color combos and PEW just don't do it for me
