I have used Zoo med, have not used Exo terra, I think they are both okay as far as those types of UTHs go...

I have used several types of UTHs when keeping reptiles when I was younger. Currently, I use both ZooMed and Ultratherms from Reptil Basics. The Ultratherms are hands-down the best UTH I've ever used. And they aren't any more expensive than ZooMed or Exo-Terra. I highly recommend this brand over any other. While I get them from Reptile Basics, they may be available elsewhere - I just haven't bothered to look somewhere else since I'm happy purchasing from RBI. Hope this is helpful...

I had an exo terra. I hated it, it got warm. Not hot like it should. I would get zoo med. They got as hot as they need to be, without feeling like its struggling to get up there. And thats what it felt like the whole time with exo terra's UTH

    Re: Uth ????

Definitely Zoo-Med. In my opinion, they make a better UTH. But, whatever brand you choose, DO NOT buy a Zilla one. They melt at a low heat, even when on a thermostat. They adhere to the bottom of the tank, and it is a nightmare to scrape off. Also, the sticky side is just a large sheet of tape, which often falls off. I don't know if this represents the majority of experiences with Zilla UTHs, but it's what happened to me.

T-Rex Cobra heat mats are the same exact thing as an ultratherm - and most local pet stores carry them.

    Re: Uth ????

I use the Exo-Terra Desert UTH's. I like them better than the Exo-Terra Jungle pads. The Deserts are rated at higher wattages which makes it easier for the thermostats to keep them at the required temperatures.

Yeah I've heard the same. When I was still a BP n00b, the pet store owner recommended the jungle pad to me >_<
