Great! They are so cute. Where did you learn all the marking names. I am looking around the net and on here and checked out a couple of books from the library (mostly from the kids section, not a great pet rat book collection) but I still hear people talking about different types that I didn't know before.

The top one is a Bareback. In the second photo, the one on the left is a capped/stripe and the one on the right is a blazed capped/stripe. Very cute.

Just google "rat colors" or "rat markings" and websites will come up with photos of different rats, usually home made by people to show rats. I love breeding them, even if I dont feed live and all my snakes are on f/t I still sell them to other people and enjoy just watching them grow and seeing what markings they turn out to have.

Cool thanks, the website I referred to wasnt that in depth on having a ton of different markings.
What I find interesting is I have one male that breeds about 5 females in my small colony and so far he has passed on his blaze to a total of 6 rat babies from the different females. I find this very cool, i wouldnt have thought that was such a passable trait.

I used to hate rats and thought they were disgusting until I started to breed them and you see the wonderful side of them. 22, beautiful litter
