Quick feeding question.

Hello,
I had a young rescue that unfortunately died before I got the chance to feed him. Well I currently have two fuzzy mice, about two weeks old. I've been giving them warm cow's milk, but i don't want to take care of them forever.

They came from a questionable pet store; last time I got a snake there it had internal parasites. I was wondering: can snakes catch internal parasites from their feed?

[If not I think I'll just feed them to my corn.]

oh, also the mice were exposed to the rescue that might be diseased. Can the mice transfer the possible disease to my other snake?

Bump. Honestly guys, way to welcome a new member. I'm sure some of you guys have something to say about this, a few of you are even mice/rat breeders.

If the mice were exposed to a rescue snake that died I would definitely not offer then to my other snakes. The few dollars they cost are not worth the chance.

Not all threads get seen right away Patience. But zeus summed it up perfectly. Not worth the risk IMO. They would probably be fine food but why save a couple bucks and risk spreading anything to your healthy snakes?

I didn't see the original post. Sometimes certain times of the day the posts don't get seen. I would use cervical euthanization and throw them away.

My computer says it was posted yesterday, I was on from 3p-11p my time (at work, obviously not 100% active) and didn't even see it. Some don't use the main page and only go to certain forum sections and don't see it. It does not mean people don't care about new members. If I can recall correctly myself and others have posted in other threads you have started, and have been more than welcoming. Defensiveness gets you no where.

As for the mice, if you can't humanely euthanize them, I'd take them back to the apparent crappy store you got them from. To answer your question, if a mouse carries parasites or worms or diseases they can be spread to your ball python. I'd avoid that shop if it is that questionable.
