    funny noises, need opinions

my 3yr old male BP has recently started to what sounds like, sneeze. i only hear it while im holding him, and only about once or twice a day. recently its increased in freqency slightly but not by much. the temps in the tank are a little warmer than usual (very hot here in the summer) and the humidity stays between 45-65%. regular aspen bedding that was just changed 2 weeks ago. tank recently dusted as well. any thoughts? was under the impression that resp infections occured when it was too cold. if anything its too warm right now. theres no disharge around nostrils, and mouth is clear. just a tiny sneeze or gasp now and then. no open mouth breathing or stareing upward

It is not uncommon for them to make huffing, sniffing or similar noises when being held. They can also make these noises for a wide variety of reasons - clogged nares, obstructed nares, etc.

If you aren't seeing discharge or any other symptoms, keep an eye on him and see if it stays the same or gets worse. If the symptoms become more serious, take him to a vet.

I 2nd skiploder, my Ball can make all sorts of noises when he is stressed from handling. His breathing will increase, which leads to whistling, sometimes hissing, and other noises because he is scared.

Keep handling sessions short and sweet and don't over do it.

Sometimes a stuck piece of shed is in the nostril too causing a wheezing sound. Keep an close eye out for signs of an RI though simply because they are easier to treat and have a snake recover from when caught early.

Wouldnt stuck sheds make constant whistling sounds? The puffing sounds more like a warning to put him down before he bites! Just keep watching out for other URI symptoms

Plenty of snakes huff and puff and do not bite.

My ball hisses at me occasionally and has never struck at me. My blood hisses constantly and has also never struck at me.

Sometimes they just want to be vocal and bossy
