Could this work as an Iguana enclosure?

Could a shower unit like the one in the link below possibly work as an Iguana cage? Obviously it would take a lot of work, but do you think I could build a good enclosure out of one? Really want an iguana but at the end of my wits trying to think of a good enclosure for one

Ok, a few things to consider. And I don't mean any disrespect! If you're familiar with iguanas and know about their quirks and personalities, then fine - just remember, at this point, I don't know that about you so I'm just trying to be helpful.

Green Iguanas are not nice pets. Sure, there may be the one or two out there that are really puppy-dog tame. But they are very few and far between. Even if you get one as a baby and handle it often, as adults, they change. Males are extremely territorial and the females are just plain mean. If you just want one for display, ok, that might work. But if you want to handle it at all, probably not. A friend of mine had one and it would literally chase strangers through the house if it happened to be roaming when someone would come over - and it would chase with the FULL intention of biting and doing serious damage! She got rid of him when he started going after her. Not good. And they'll whip with their tails too - a slice from a fully grown iguana's tail can split your skin open. If you're still interested, may I suggest you look into Rhinocerous Iguanas? They are not as pretty, but they really do get - and stay - puppy-dog tame. They aren't territorial and they get to know their handlers and will eat out of your hand and they're big. I'd go for personality over looks any day....

BUT, whichever you choose, there are a few things to think about with this enclosure. First, it really isn't big enough. An iguana needs a LOT of space - like almost a small bedroom. I'd say double this size would be the minimum you should have.

Second, you ought to be able to build a frame, even with the seats/ledges, for a heck of a lot less work then you'd have with modifying the shower frame. And I think you'd be able to build one easily and at least twice that size for a lot less than $750! For $200-300 you ought to be able to construct a sturdy frame with 2x4s or maybe even pvc. It would only take a little creativity. If you can modify this shower stall to meet your needs, I think you can certainly build another type of frame that's even better.

you'd be better off building an enclosure

at the price listed on the lowes website, youd also have to make some modifications, that would probably run your bill up over $1k.
Building one would most likely cost around 300-400 and would also be a better enclosure for your iguana
