    Should I try something different?

I feel like my pastel yb is determined to drive me insane... It took me 3 feedings to get her to eat for me after I first got her, then she ate really well for a little while, maybe 4-5 feedings, and now she's back to not eating... I'm not sure what I did to turn her off food again, but it's starting to drive me nuts. I feed f/t so I do the zombie rat dance for most of my snakes and everyone but her eats. She acts super interested, even going so far as to follow it around when I move it, but she NEVER strikes. Should I try offering her live, or even a mouse? The breeder I got her from said she was eating f/t rat pups so I'm afraid to put her on mice... She hasn't lost weight so I'm not concerned about her health, but I would really like her to start eating again.

You can try offering live if that is the route you want to go. I have a male normal that used to eat f/t but then just stopped eating all together. I had to put him back on live to get him to eat again. He absolutely will not eat f/t anymore. I even tried the tough love approach, but he went 43 days without eating for me, and then I broke down and put him back on live. He has been eating very well ever since.

I feel your pain! My blue eyes lucy does the exact same thing! He will only eat live, always has, and lately he will skip a meal or two following it all around the enclosure but won't strike at it. It is very, very frustrating considering that my other 4 will eat F/T just laid in front of them....

If mine don't strike but seem interested, I zombie dance for a few then just leave it in the rack...usually by morning it's gone lol.

I've tried that. I put it in the hide she's currently using and when I wake up in the morning and she's moved the hide so the rat pup isn't in it with her.

Mine can't be watched. Won't eat if I'm in the room. I got a box like the kind you'd take a hamster home in from pet co. I rubbed the inside down with a thawed rat and put the snake in the box in his enclosure for about 10 men. Then I would drop the rat put in (freshly warmed with hot water) and close it back up. I come back an hour latter to let him out or re warm the rat- what ever's needed.

It started out slow but now when he's in his box he knows! The rat pup is snatched out of the air. He still waits for me to leave to eat though. Try boxes, live, etcetera- but be willing to make it a part of your routine. Whats ok for owning one snake can be a nightmare if you own ten. Luck to you
