Update on the rescue I took in...

So about 3 weeks ago we brought home a ten year old bp, unsexed. The guy said he/she has been off food for 7 months (was previously on live rats) attempted to feed tonight and....... 2 strikes at a f/t!!!!! Unfortunately both were a miss, and now he's hiding but I am very pleased at the interest!!! Try again next week!

That's awesome! Next week I bet if you left it directly in front of it's hide, it would eat. Keep us updated and post pics.

Both strikes came from inside the hide, the second one he/she hit his head on the hide which I think is why he didn't try again. I think next week is the week though!

my het albino female was off food for 7 months when I got her and was eating sm live rats before she stopped. I got her back to eating in 2 weeks. Just found out she will only eat sm rats basically the size of jumbo mice, anything bigger she wont go. I guess I got lucky and she finally got hungry Good luck with yours

This isn't terribly uncommon and isn't really that bad. This happens during breeding season normally...Although not always this long, but even longer in some cases.

To the OP...Congrats on the progress!

Congrats! I have one that if he misses more than 3 times from inside his hide (he won't eat without his hide), if I leave the f/t rat in front of his door overnight...it's usually gone by morning. Worth a try! Good luck on the future feedings
