Hissed at for the first time - I feel so special!

I had to clean Fuzzy's tub yesterday because he left me a smelly present in the corner (Holy crap (no pun intended!) these things like to save up for a big one, don't they?) I decided to try switching his water to one of the smaller crock bowls. Currently all snakes are on newspaper due to one having mites.

Big mistake on my part. He spilled the water. Soaked his tub. I discovered it about an hour later. He was sitting on wet, cold newspaper and he was in a very foul mood. When I took the lid off, he jerked back into striking position. When I reached in and touched him, he hissed at me! Thankfully, there were no witnesses, because I giggled like a little girl.

Cleaned the tub, dried it, put the big bowl back. No worries there. Just thought it was a slightly amusing story and a first, wanted to share it!

Well he had every right . One of mine hissed at me the other night. I think she just didn't want to be bothered. I bothered her anyway.

My male normal used to hiss at me all the time when he was just a hatchling. He eventually learned that this cute little act was not going to scare me away so he does not even hiss at me anymore unless he is in deep shed.

I used to have a 18 foot Burm that liked to soak in my slop sink. She would hiss at me when she didn't want to come out, and at her size, I left her there until she decided to come out on her own.

Giggle away. I don't know why, but I find hissing just hysterical!

...probably helps that none of my hissers are biters.

Yeah, he didn't bite. Didn't really expect him to either. He used to be really iffy, really head shy. Couple weeks of handling regularly fixed that, now he's just a scaly, legless teddy bear. With a slight attitude problem.
