    Just looked at BP substrate...

I just read online that I shouldnt use pine bedding, the bedding I have is a store brand softwood bedding, it contains pine, spruce and fir. Should I switch it?

I would. Those sorts of evergreens contain chemicals that could effect your animal over time. It's not an "instant" poison or anything like that, you don't have to panic. But long-term exposure can be bad.

Pine shavings that have been kiln-dried are safe, though. Check the packaging to see if it says whether they are or not.

Yes, pine is not good. I've searched online to see others responses and the majority say no, because it is not kiln dried and still contains the harmful oils.
