spiny mice for feeders

hello wanted to ask if anyone has ever use spiny mice as feeders for ball pythons ??? would they be ok for them to eat???

I seem to remember a thread about this a while ago, and the answer was no, because although they are closely related to mice and African Soft Furred Rats (ASFs) they do have actual spines which could be a little painful on the soft inside of a snake's mouth. I can't find the original thread though...

They're related to mice but have developed hair spines really similar to those of a hedgehog.
