    Re: Quarantine new snakes?

The purpose is to prevent the spread of any diseases from the new snake to your entire collection.

Symptoms in snakes can take much longer to show, even though they are carrying the disease/virus. If you put one sick (yet seemingly healthy looking) snake in with the rest of your collection, you will end up with your entire collection being very sick. It is imperative that new snakes are quarantined, unless you want a dead collection, or very pricey vet bills for not one, but all of your snakes.

Some do 60 days, I've heard people doing 90 days.

Like it was said already, to prevent the spread of diseases and parasites. I generally quarantine for 60 days, some do 90. If I got a craiglist snake or a rescue it would be 90 days.
