    where to buy fake plants/bark??

Where can i go to buy fake plants? i mean, i know i can get them from petland and whatnot, but im not looking to spend 10.99 for a one branch, i know there is a store that sells like household goods type of deal. I found one 99cent store where i live that had fake leaves for 1.00, i bought that and i am using it on my setup now, but i want to add more of a variety, make look real exotic in there. Also what about branches and logs? am i stuck with petstores on that one, or is there a store that sells things like that too for cheaper??

places like hobbylobby and such generally have a wide variety of decorative fakery. I know they have just about every fake flower imaginable, but I bet the also sell faux wood or even real driftwood for vase arrangements.

Haven't ever actually gone looking, though. But it might be a good place to start.

I actually bought a live tropical plant from petco for only 3 bucks...It's nice and healthy and I adore it. Not good for climbing, though. He mostly knocks it over.

Re: where to buy fake plants/bark??

Besides the Dollar stores, you can usually find fake plants at some of the arts and crafts stores like Michaels. Where I live, there is an entire store devoted to fake plants called House of Silk Flowers. I don't know if it is a chain or just local.
The best place that I have seen for getting bark and branches is reptile shows. There are usually one or two vendors at the shows I attend that bring in large selections from small pieces to large pieces for big custom enclosures.

yeh i know expos is the best, but the next one here in NYC is july 10, i want something now...

Found a michaels nearby on yellowpages.com, i never heard of this store, but i will be going to it tommorrow! I especially need some branch/log, my setup is basically complete, the only thing i dont have is a thermo on my UTH and need some bark/branch for when he sheds and i was looking to a alternative to petland, i paid a few days ago 15 dollars for a medium water dish! When i went to the expo in march i saw all these things, and for ALOT cheaper, but i did not know half of what i know now about BP's and husbandry....

I got my fake plants from Michaels also

I would worry about getting a thermostat/dimmer before fake branches though.

i already have a dimmer set up, thats what i was saying, the DAY when i found out i should hook up a dimmer to my UTH (a month or more ago) i was excited, i have had a dimmer for that long on it and with my temp gun and fiddling around i have been able to keep the UTH at 95 and 92 on the bedding..... the thermostat i will purchase next month when i will be able too but i do have a dimmer until then....

Do they also say branches, or drift wood at michaels?
