    New baby Rats! *pic heavy*

Just thought I'd share some rat pics with everyone, gotta love pictures! My two sister rats gave birth to 2 litters of rats at the same time. Sadly for "Willow" (the beige hooded rex) she birthed all 5 of her pups premature and they all have died. Her sister "Pigeon" (the berkshire) had 12 babies and they are all healthy as can be. I bred them with the same father, his name is "Slash". The pups are about 6-7 days old, just gettin their peach fuzz.

I dont really know what color to call "Slash"? Hes not blue, and hes not really brown, almost a cinnamon color but not quite lol. And im not sure what all the babies with be yet either. What I did find interesting is that two of the babies retained the blaze or "slash" on their face like their father.
    So here are the pics..

Those are so beyond adorable! It's starting to make me really sad about having to feed one to my new Pin... I might not have the heart and end up with a pet rat....

That happens to me A LOT.
I always pick at least two from a litter that are "safe" and will later become my breeders. I think the blaze bros have the safe pass in this litter. From the last litter i kept a pure white dumbo male with red eyes and a female dumbo berkshire with white fleck patterns coming over her rib cage. Pretty cool looking siblings.
It took me weeks to get used to breeding and then feeding off, Ive got most of my snakes on f/t now so my rat breeding will be slowed down a lot.

Doesnt bother me any more, I think of them as the "cow" for my snakes.

    And 6 days later...

    12-13 days old...

    Getting more and more cute!
My two blaze bros are gonna be sweeties! I really hope they are females though, to use them for breeding. I def dont need more than two males at this time.
