New BP Feeding Question
Hi all,
I just got my first BP on Tuesday, had been researching them and had a huge interest for about 6 months prior.
The breeder I bought her from told me that she had not eaten 2 weeks prior to shipping, as to avoid her pooping en route.
So should I let her adjust for the week and not try to feed here, as I have read from many places, or should I try to feed her today? She came in at 243 grams and was born in late October.
Thanks,
Devin

Some will say go ahead and offer food today, others will say wait one week. I prefer waiting one week then offering food to ensure they aren't stressed. Going three weeks without food won't harm her and may be best for her.

Yeah I planned on waiting, I'm just so anxious!
Here's a picture from the breeder, I will probably make a thread next week when I take her out for the first time.

Thanks for the replies,
Devin

Thanks! I think shes gorgeous.
I fed her two adult size mice today (the $2.99 ones at PetCo) and she pounded them down.. she was a hungry little girl. Gonna go to a reptile store in the cities next week and pick of some small rats to feed her till she needs the next size.
Thanks for the help everyone. More pics coming soon!

Re: New BP Feeding Question
That's great that she ate for you. It seems kind of strange to me that a breeder would hold off food for two whole weeks, just because she expected to ship her at some point. I understand a couple of days, but that seems extreme.

It's my understanding that most breeders do this to ensure they're empty in order to prevent them from soiling the bag they are shipped in. Two weeks is not extreme at all, it's only two feedings. If the breeder shipped the snake two days after feeding, the snake would still have a meal in them.
