best rack system for small BP breeding operation??
Ive been doing some research on different rack systems out there and would like to get one...I always thought Id keep my snakes in nice fancy glass enclosures but now realize all the benefits to the rack..Could anyone steer me in the direction of a PERFECT setup that can house both adults(5-6 snakes) and a number of babies?? Is there such thing out there?? I have been looking but havent found exactly what I am looking for yet..any help??

Animal Plastic makes a rack that holds both 15qt and 32qt tubs in the same rack. It might work but would not be ideal. 32qt tubs are small for larger females and 15qt are a little big for hatchlings. I think you can get the rack 10 shelves high so you could have 10 32qt tubs or 20 15qt tubs or any combination of the two.

if you have a temperature/humidity controlled room vision racks can hold a several size tubs (hatchling and adult) in the same rack, they are not advertised this way so it is best to contact them for your custom needs. have fun!

We have an Animal Plastic rack and we are pleased with it. Good product, great price. But order it ahead of time they take a while to get in. I would definitely buy another one from them.

its easier and cheaper to just build your own look on the diy forum and look at every1 elses and go from there it will save you a lot of money.

i was thinking about getting a vision v-35 and a vision cb-70.. i just keep a space heater in my room. is that fine? if my temp drops to low in my room will my snakes be ok with just their hot spots? i might go with reptile basics for my hatchling racks.. not sure yet.

I am a fan of the Animal Plastics racks for smaller collections. The Economy Plastics line is really good, and like Zeus said, it will hold two sized tubs. Those work really well for pretty much anything (except hatchlings, the 15qt tubs are to big), but the 32qt tubs will work for adult males just fine, and will hold a female up to like 2000 grams. After that, you might want to get a larger rack that fits cb-70, or the 41qt tubs. Another good thing about animal plastics is the price. For a small breeder, the price is right, but you will need to order well ahead of time, it takes a few weeks to get it to your house. Hope this helps.
