Corn and King interactions
I just got a new Cal King a few days ago and he is in the room with the others. We have him in a 30 or 40 gallon tank (I forget the actual size). Anyways he is in sight of our Corn Zeus, I know that Kings can and will eat corns but atm there is no where else in the room to put him.
Well since Apollo has come to live with us Zeus just does not hide anymore, he stays out in the corner and looks at Apollo's tank. Apollo also seems to prefer the side of his tank that lets him look at Zeus, this is also the side with the heat lamp though so he may just want the warmth.
Has anyone ever heard of this? It seems like Zues is either just curious or wants to pick a fight with Apollo (and Apollo would win for sure).

Well not sure if it's a curiosity thing or a territorial thing. But I recommend putting a piece of paper or cardboard dark cloth ect.... Between the two. That way they can't see one another and if it is a territorial thing it will reduce the stress. Good luck with your boys lol

Re: Corn and King interactions
Interesting.... I have two kingsnakes (MBKs), and both their vivs are next to corn snake vivs, but neither of them shows any interest in the corns at all.

I wouldn't think that they would show any interest in each other. It may be a territorial thing. Need some pics of the children as well.

This is an older pic of Zeus from one of my threads

And here is a recent one of Apollo

Zeus is around 6-8 months old (we got him in Dec) and we were told that Apollo is 2 years old

I wouldn't worry about it. Large scale breeders have snakes right on top of each other in bins, including Kingsnakes. And the scent of another snake is far more enticing than the visual.
Great Looking Okeetee, by the way.

Thank you, he's a feisty lil one. It just concerns me because Zeus has yet to hide since Apollo came home. He never reacted to Hera or hades that way. I just don't want him to be stressed out.

Anthropomorphizing is your word of the day.
I may not be very smart, but what if I am?

I didn't think it was as much anthropomorphizing as it was noticing that a new snake was introduced and stopped hiding.... but i skimmed so maybe i missed something Wes
