Lightbulb College course wildlife essay, need ideas

Looking for some ideas and assistance from the knowlegeable herp community here. For a environmental course I'm doing, I gotta write an essay on how a culture, other than our own, views wildlife. It can be about just a particular area or about a particular species as well. I know that there are some places that revere snakes, but I can't find any information on a particular place that might be. I'm open to any other ideas or suggestions that fit into this topic as well. Thanks

the igbo people of nigeria revere particular snakes. So do a lot of cultures of India, in india there are snake charmers and aspects of religion focused on snakes. Most places that hold snakes in high esteem do so for their abilities to keep rodent populations down
