i keep my snake room at 80 degrees and i have one controlling the heat for my ATBs enclosure. ive had consistent temps since i set it up a couple weeks ago. but that may be because i keep my snake room at a constant temperature.

This, if they fluctuate up and down then you will want a thermostat.

Like someone else mentioned...the hydrofarm is awesome for the price. If your looking at the rehostat you can save jingle and just get a corded dimmer from home depot or lowes.

I don't have the rheostat, but I do have the 500r in one of mine and it works good but the hydrofarm was cheaper and works way better. I ordered two and will order a few more soon.

Re: Zoo Med Repti Temperature Rheostat?.

I bought one way back when I first got my bp, and I have to say I really don't like it. Even when I had it turned down as far as it would go, it only lowered the UTH from 112 to around 100, at least according to my digital thermometer. I've found it works better with heat bulbs, and only if your room temps don't fluctuate too much (as was already mentioned).

I would also highly recommend the Hydrofarm thermostat. Amazing quality for the price Or a cheap lamp dimmer from Home Depot or Lowes is pretty much the same as the zoo med rheostat, and is a lot cheaper.
