    how to freeze mice

how do you freeze a freshly killed mouse? are there some preparations needed before doing so? do I need to wash em prior to freezing? does their stomachs need to be empty before killing them and then freezing? ...sorry if this sounds stupid

    Re: how to freeze mice

    Hi,

No you don't need to do any of those things.

Since you have the opportunity I would freeze them well laid out ( possibly on a small tray or similar ) but that would be just so they are not all frozen with intertwined tails and legs - that makes them a pain to get back out.

I wrap my rodents in a square of saran wrap before I freeze them...works well and ensures your not trying to chip a rat off a block of frozen rats down the road

I Individually wrap in the fold over sandwich baggies. Theyre cheap and I can just Toss em in The freezer after that.

When i gas and freeze all my rodents are laid out flat in the freezer bag and laid flat in the freezer. This allows for stacking and more rodents will fit this way.

Pictures show how i do my rodents for me as well as for locals who buy from me. I write date gassed/frozen and size.
